Traveling south on InterstateI81, take any of the three Lexington exits... depending on which exit you choose, proceed through Lexington on Main Street (or take the Route 11 by-pass) to Thornhill Road (a.k.a. Link Road) at the intersection of Main Street (Route 11S) and the Route 11 bypass (Red Carpet Inn), travel west on Thornhill Road which becomes Collierstown Road, SR251. After approximately 5 miles, cross the Thomas Dixon Bridge. Continue straight ahead a short distance to Kygers Hill Road (SR677), at this point, SR251 turns sharply right toward Collierstown and Lake Robertson, do not turn.  Continue on SR677, eventually cross concrete bridge and merge onto Bluegrass Trail (SR612), traveling past a barn on your right with faded Leech Hereford sign . Stay on SR612, which takes numerous jogs and crosses several small bridges. [Caution, you will come to a junction with Moores Creek Road (dead end) which turns to the right and appears to be a continuation of Blue Grass Trail, which actually veers left and crosses a small concrete bridge.   Stay on Blue Grass Trail!]  You will pass a trout hatchery on your left and soon thereafter, at the junction of SR612 and SR662 (Spring Branch Road), turn left.  Lacy Lane, the entrance road to Saville Hill Farm, borders a field and is the first turn about 150 yards on the left, opposite Ingleside Dairy Farm, C.B. Leech and Family dairy.

[Alternate route from Roanoke area… travel north on Interstate 81 to the Arcadia Exit, 168. At the top of exit ramp, turn left and cross over I81. Turn right (north) onto Frontage Road, SR71. Check or zero your odometer. After 2.9 miles, turn left onto Buffalo Road, SR 623. You are now on winding country roads… Keep the faith… at 3.6 miles; pass Alpine Road… at 7.5 miles cross the Botetourt/Rockbridge County lines. At 9.9 miles, pass Rapps Church on the right. At 10.9 miles turn left onto Spring Branch Road, crossing a small bridge, at 13.6 miles turn right onto Lacy Lane. If you come to Bluegrass Trail, you’ve gone too far!]

Proceed 0.2 mile going past the brick house on your left, our road bears slightly right and continues upward.  Most likely, the two gates will be open.  If the sheep are on the lower pastures, you may have to open the road gates between the main entrance and the first pond.  Please be sure to close them.  If the sheep are hovering in front of either gate... you can nudge them away with a hand clap and a few hardy "Gits!"  Continue passing the ponds, and proceed to the top of the ridge, another 0.5 miles or so... drive past two barns to the house and studio shop at the top of the hill, again, watch out for sheep, chickens and dogs! The Saville Hill Farm Office is in the bunkhouse of the first barn you see to your right, the Fiber Arts Studio and Learning Center is on the lower level at the rear of the main house.
